Malaysian Entertainment Scene

The Malaysian entertainment scene needs a new rethinking and inertia. For the last many years, local artistes find it almost next to impossible to make a decent living in the industry.

Malay entertainment industry may be more sustainable compared to the rest due to a larger market but many of the artistes do not have staying power. Groups and individuals come and go as quickly as ocean tide. How many Malay artistes are able to create a mass appeal for their music? How many of them can claim to be a popular regional artiste?

Chinese artistes eking out locally find it difficult to break into the regional music scene. Many of them became successful only after they had taken their career to Hong Kong, China or Taiwan.

There is a need to revamp and rethink of a new strategy to revive the local music industry. KL wants to become a regional and an international city. An international city needs a creative industry.

Musicians, artistes, artistes management companies, promoters and recording labels need to come together to work out a new solution.

Malaysia can become a music/entertainment hub if we can embrace change.

GFW is keen to work with local artistes, management companies and record labels to regenerate the local entertainment scene.

Contact us now! We would like to hear from you.

R16 Bboy Championship 2010!

Penny Tai - A Real Talent

10 years wait is finally over for Penny Tai, a Malaysian born but Taiwan-based singer/composer. Her maiden concert in Arena of Stars, Genting Highlands was presented by Magnum and organised by CMG.

GlamBrands joined more than 5k audience to enjoy Penny live! Our hope is to see top Malaysian artistes coming together to promote M-Pop in 2010.

3 Goodmen Concert

Sharing the stage together for the first time ever, Phil Chang (张宇), Bobby Chen (陈升) and Huang Pin Yuan (黄品源) present “3 Good Men in Concert” (三个好男人唱好情歌演唱会).

Individually known for their broad repertoire of Karaoke friendly hits, singing prowess and wits, “3 Good Men in Concert” performed to fans in Hong Kong earlier this year.

Witness the showbiz veterans pit their skills against each other as they present their hits such as “用心良苦” (Yong Xin Liang Ku), “把悲伤留给自己” (Ba Bei Shang Liu Gei Zi Ji), “你怎么舍得我难过” (Ni Zen Me She De Wo Nan Guo), “一言难尽” (Yi Yan Nan Jin), “恨情歌” (Hen Qing Ge), “小薇” (Xiao Wei) and more.

GlamBrands was invited to attend the press conference. It was obvious that the 3 goodmen enjoyed very good camaraderie. Phil, Bobby and Huan have requested the audience to treat it as a party instead of a concert.

They continued to poke fun on each other. It should be a night to remember and yes, to party.

Check out Axcess website for ticket information and booking.

Penny

This is why you should go to watch her sing live! Penny is a lovely song bird, a Malaysian pride.

Penny Tai 戴佩妮 Live Concert

Malaysian singer song-writer Penny Tai 戴佩妮 will be back to her home country,Malaysia this January. Despite being active in the industry for almost a decade, no one would have thought the petite Penny to be 31 years of age.

With 7 studio albums already, Penny started song-writing at the age of 17 and pens each and every single song in her albums herself. She will be performing her concert at Arena of Stars Genting Highlands,16th of January 2010

Born in Johore to a Hakka family, the platform which launched her career came from the Halo Song-writing Contest in Kuala Lumpur back in the late 90s. And in 1999, EMI Music (Taiwan) offered her a recording contract and moved her to Taiwan to pursue a career in singing and song-writing.

The rest, as they say is history. Her first album, the self-titled “Penny” was released in January 2000 and with that she was hailed as the next big thing in the music industry. Her career reached a pinnacle in 2006 when she won the Best Composer award at the Golden Melody Awards for the song “Crazy Love” – the title track to her 2005 hit album.

Now Penny will be performing at the Arena of Stars this on 16th of January 2010. Be there to catch her live and be entertained by hits like How’s That, Love After, The Love That You Want and Crazy Love.

Fee and ticket Prices for Penny Tai, Live in Malaysia Concert, Arena of Stars 2010. *early birds get 15% discount and special price for Genting Worldcard holders too*.
